It would be easy to call the whole thing off. If the bride didn’t bother showing up to the wedding, what was the point really? Wasn’t the whole thing for her anyway? She’d done the planning, picked out the flowers, compiled most of the guest list. But now the big day was here, and Claire was nowhere to be found.
“What do you want to do?”
David looked his brother in the eyes and shrugged, the way he had shrugged so many times before. “The show must go on.”
So David picked one of the cuter bridesmaids and got married anyway.
Ha! Reminds me of a Seinfeld stand-up routine. “David, do you take…ah…THIS woman, to be your lawfully wedded wife.”
That’s a super-neat way to solve that problem! Really enjoyed this one.
