Her.
I can tell you how old she is. Where she went to school, where she worked for many years. I know who her first boyfriend was, how long they were together. I even know why they broke up.
I introduced her to her future husband. I was at her hen party, dancing the night away, as we downed shots together. I know her mother. Heck, I even know some of her past dark secrets she’d prefer nobody else to know.
Oh I know lots about her. Lots and lots.
But right now?
I’m damned if I can remember her name.
It sounds like you are writing about me, lol. Names and numbers vanish from my mind, but faces and actions never leave.
Haha, it must be our age group Marj, hit the nail on the head… Loved it
Oh I think it’s just me most of the time, then realise it’s not 🙂
I wish I didn’t understand this story. Nicely done!
Wonderful ending! And so typically HUMAN! Great stuff!
I enjoyed the story. I could not predict the ending. It took me through memory lane and hard right towards humor. I am still laughing. Through my laugher and the story’s relevance, my heart has been warmed. Thank you for ending my long day with a pleasant laugh.
Great piece, Marj.
