Wild Life

April 13, 2026 2 Comments

By Don Momosaki

It wasn’t supposed to happen like this. I mean…there were my parents—my mother and father—sitting in the second row; my brother standing beside me, holding the ring; my two sisters, several cousins, my great-aunt, aunt, uncle, closest friends, and even a few professional colleagues—all sitting inside the local Catholic church (with its St. Francis statue out front), wearing their nicest suits and newest dresses, while in front of them, facing the altar on my left, waited my diminutive bride whose belly—despite her specially designed taffeta gown and the strategic positioning of her tail—obviously held new life.

The Power of Imagery with Nina Schuyler

September 12 & 13 on Zoom
Enrollment closes Thursday, September 3 at 7:00 PM Pacific

If your descriptions are vivid but your stories still feel thin, this workshop is for you.

Join award-winning author Nina Schuyler to learn the difference between description, which tells a reader what things look like, and imagery, which carries plot, character, and meaning at the same time.

In just two days, you'll learn to choose images that hold emotion without naming it, pair them so each one deepens the other, and build patterns that gather meaning as the story moves.
