Got it. Thank you, Google! Liver surgery. Not my liver, my cousin’s liver.
She needs surgery. A liver resection…
The liver regrows; it’s not like I’ve crippled her.
She’ll be in the hospital five to seven days. She’s a single mother of two, and needs help with the kids.
What if your boss asks your brother? You work together. No one likes my brother; they’ll believe me.
She’s my cousin on my dad’s side, and they don’t talk. My brother’s stubborn, so he’s staying.
They’ll believe my non-existent cousin and her liver surgery. How else do I take a week off?
Could WORK.
Ha! Touché…
Chilling. Taut. Congrats!
Thanks!
Nice imagery of a devious, nervous mind. Good story.
I beg to differ. More a reflection on the lack of adequate vacation time provided by most employers.
All the reasoning is laid out well. Nice story.
