He stood in the middle of the flower shop, considering his options. The poster on the wall told him that according to tradition, yellow roses are used to ask for forgiveness. He thought about buying a dozen or more, maybe having them put into a nice vase.
He knew that it probably wouldn’t make the slightest bit of difference; that a single moment of weakness was going to destroy his marriage. Still he had to try, didn’t he?
After thinking it through carefully, he settled on a single long stem.
It would hurt much less when she threw it at him.
